Maria Nieves, PMHNP

Maria Nieves is a Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish) Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Florida who has been practicing since 2022. She earned her BachelorÂ’s degree in Nursing in 1997 at Medical Science Campus University in Puerto Rico. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing specializing in psychiatry from Walden University in 2022 and received her MD from the School of Medicine San Juan Bautisa. She has more than 26 years of clinical experience in various settings including Primary care, Emergency Room, Oncology, Home Health, and Acute/Inpatient psychiatric care. Maria specializes in the management of ADHD being able to prescribe stimulant medications and interpret diagnostic screenings and review computerized testing results. She also can provide guidance and medication management using genetic testing as well. She is both competent and confident in providing care for children and teens sensitive to needs throughout their development including college-age students. She has experience working with patients suffering from mood disorders who are also diagnosed with neurodevelopment and neurocognitive challenges. Maria has cared for patients of all ages and rendered comforting measures to their families. As a nurse, she believes patients should be treated like family, and this always is her first focus and responsibility.
