Melissa is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Art Therapist. She earned her graduate degree from Hofstra University and is currently a doctoral candidate for Clinical Psychology.
Melissa uses a person-centered and eclectic approach, as she believes in providing individualized treatment to meet the specific needs of each client. With her degree in Creative Arts Therapy, she is able to integrate art, expressive, and play therapies into treatment. She specializes in working with children and adolescents, and those who have experienced trauma and/or abuse. In addition, she has worked with families in developing healthy relationships and working towards reunification, as well as youth involved in the juvenile justice system.
With her empathetic nature, Melissa is able to build strong connections with her clients and create an open and trusting therapeutic relationship. She strives to empower her clients to find inner strength to overcome challenges and reach their own goals.
