Miyuki Hwang, LPC

Miyuki Hwang is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Illinois. She has a B.A. in Education from International Christian University and an M.A. in Christian Formation and Ministry and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College Graduate School. Miyuki is originally from Japan and was in church and parachurch ministry for nearly 10 years in Japan prior to coming to the U.S. to study. After graduating from the counseling program, she was a member care counselor for missionaries. She also volunteered as a crisis hotline worker at Sarah’s Inn, a young adult mentor with World Relief, and a disaster counselor with the American Red Cross of Illinois. Miyuki loves working with people who cross cultures. She can help clients with cultural adjustment, issues with immigration, depression, anxiety, panic disorder and trauma. Miyuki uses a holistic approach to treat clients – psychological, physical, and spiritual. She has a calming presence where clients can feel safe and supported. In her spare time, Miyuki enjoys yoga and walking in nature.
