Morgan Dunn, LLMSW
I became a therapist because I feel that everyone deserves to feel like they are heard, understood and supported. The journey into and through therapy is difficult and unique to each person. That is why it is most important to me as a clinician to meet the client where they are with empathy, understanding and honesty. Everyone has their own personal strengths that develop the story of who they are; which is why I take a strength-based, holistic and person-centered approach to create a collaborative relationship with the client. It brings me joy to help clients navigate their path as we work towards goals together, on their own timeline. While I enjoy working with all people, I most enjoy working with young adults, adults and couples who are battling depression, anxiety, trauma, difficult transitions and issues with relationships, sex or sexuality. I would particularly like to invite clients who may not feel accepted in all treatment offices including: members of the LGBTQIA+ population, those in non-traditional relationships and gender non-conforming individuals.
I have training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). I also enjoy incorporating mindfulness and breathing techniques during sessions as needed.
Outside of the therapy office I enjoy spending time with my family, husband and daughter. My husband and I enjoy traveling, attending sporting events and concerts, and eating our way through different travel destinations. I also enjoy spending time outdoors and a good cup of coffee.
I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and Master’s of Social Work with certification in clinical practice with families, at Michigan State University. I am currently working towards my certificate from University of Michigan in Sex Therapy and Sexual Education.
