Background I received my master’s degree in Professional and Mental Health Counseling from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2011. I have been practicing with adults, adolescents, children, and families as a therapist since that time and worked in family case management for seven years before that. I specialize in working with family relationship issues, as well as adult survivors of family dysfunction and child abuse. I strive to help clients gain a sense of equanimity and compassion towards themselves so that they can fully pursue a valued and meaningful life. I welcome clients from all backgrounds, including race, ethnicity, sexuality, religion, and gender diversity. I am licensed as a Professional/Mental Health Counselor in Oregon, Washington, and Missouri. Services Offered Individual and couples therapy for challenges including depression, anxiety, family relationships and trauma, life adjustment, divorce, men’s issues, and stress reduction. Theoretical Orientation I generally use an individualized, mindfulness-based approach to counseling. This includes mindfulness-based psychotherapies, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) as well as aspects of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). I also incorporate research on trauma and its impact on well being, such as Polyvagal Theory and research on attachment across the human lifespan. I view the therapeutic relationship as a paramount component in improving outcomes in therapy. When working with parents and parenting issues, I typically include Collaborative Problem Solving methods in treatment.
