Prior to becoming a board certified psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner, Karla C. Hopkins worked as a certified psychiatric nurse in inpatient and outpatient settings.? She received her nurse practitioner certification from Maryville University and master’s degrees in nursing and healthcare administration from the University of Phoenix. Karla received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Tuskegee University and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.? She presently holds a leadership position with the Kentucky Board of Nursing River City Chapter and volunteers for the Louisville Public Health Department.? Karla provides medication management across the lifespan (ages 6-65). She specializes in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiance disorder (ODD), depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and psychotic disorders.

i have had awful d place in my depresssion and anxiety my whole life but i had a cerebral hemmorage and became left side paralyzed and have been in the worst way in my life obviously im 38 and have 2 growing kids who love me and i cant play with anymore, she has helped me because i felt like alot of doctors were hearing me but werent really istening, when i talked to karla we got some options that helped me the only reason i didnt give 5 stars is becuse in general lifestance is hard to get ahold of if you have any problems and that is not her fault, shes amazing, BTW IM STILL WAITING TO GET APPROVED FOR SOCIAL SECRURITY YET AND WITH DOGE NOW WHO KNOWS

Karla is extremely willing to work with me and is very understanding of what I'm going through. Not just the mental aspect, but my physical health issues are always taken into account, as well. One affects the other and she's trying to help me find a good balance between the two. So grateful we 'found' each other.

I have had a very enriching experience with my therapist. My therapist is very helpful and thorough with my medicine management questions. She's very good at asking poignant follow up questions when I have any issues. Our meetings are very relaxed and I enjoy our rapport.
