In addition to having made numerous presentations on addictions and related topics, he has been a clinical preceptor for advanced practice RNs and supervised a clinical experience in addictions treatment for numerous undergraduate nursing students. In 2008, he received the Clinical Services Award from the International Nurses Society on Addiction. In addition to treating adult substance use disorders, he also works with patients who have coexisting mood and personality disorders, and is especially interested in treating clients with concurrent substance use and chronic medical issues.
