Richard Linsk, MD, PhD, Psychiatrist in Southfield, Michigan

Dr. Richard Linsk, MD, PhD, is board-certified in both General and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  He believes in a holistic approach to psychiatric care, including medication, nutrition, therapy, and active living. He believes that people “Grow through what they go through.”  He is attuned to trauma and believes in treating it.   As a former University of Michigan pediatrician, he is very interested in child behavior and the role of parenting.  He is comfortable working with all ages and includes elements of therapy, particularly Positive Psychology, in most visits. He is comfortable with medical issues.  He has extensive teaching experience, having won teacher of the year twice while working with residents from Corewell.   He enjoys helping patients understand what is going on with them and what can be done to help.  He earned his MD at Columbia University and his PhD in Genetics at UC Berkeley.  He trained in psychiatry at Case Western University.  He has experience in both outpatient and inpatient psychiatry and is comfortable with patients with severe mental illness.
