Karen Byerly-Lamm, PsyD, LPCC-S

Dr. Byerly-Lamm is a licensed psychologist who received her Doctorate and Master of Clinical Psychology from Union Institute & University. She also holds a Master of Community Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Xavier University. Further, she holds a license as a licensed professional clinical counselor with supervision designation (LPCC-S). Dr. Byerly-Lamm completed part of her doctoral internship training at Lindner Center of Hope, training in Marsha Linehan’s Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She also completed internship and post-doctoral training at University Health Services at the University of Cincinnati. She has presented on DBT for a training for mental health professionals and has presented on mental health within the corrections system. Dr. Byerly-Lamm is an adjunct professor at Xavier University in the School of Psychology and is a member of the Ohio Psychological Association.



Dr. Byerly-Lamm’s experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults in outpatient, inpatient, residential, school-based, home-based, college student health and medical settings. During her training, she also gained experience in forensic assessment and using other assessment tools to diagnose and treat mental health and learning disorders. She conducts a broad range of psychological testing and assessments for adults including cognitive, personality, and adaptive functioning (including but not limited to ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders). She provides individual therapy for adults aged 18-65+, specializing in anxiety, depression, stress-related issues, mental health concerns facing those in college and other transitional life phases, grief, trauma, and mental health related to military veterans and chronic medical illness. She utilizes humanistic approaches, mindfulness, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching movies/TV, listening to music, swimming, biking, exploring new places/traveling, and spending time with her two dogs, family, and friends.
