Dr. Kevin Schloneger has been a Texas licensed Psychologist since 5/7/99 and has experience in mental health services for 37 years. His education is Ph.D. for clinical psychology in 12/96 from California School Professional Psychology (now Alliant International University): Fresno, CA; MA for theology in 8/86 from Fuller Theological Seminary: Pasadena, CA; and BA for psychology in 5/83 from Evangel University: Springfield, MO. Dr. Schloneger respects various sources of strength and support for people to identify and address the changes/challenges in their lives. Everyone has strengths and limitations. Dr. Schloneger asks a lot of questions, especially during the initial session, in part, to gather required (for insurance) info, but it also provides a better understanding of a person, beyond the problem that brought them into therapy. Listening to a person’s story can lead to what is important and meaningful. It takes time to trust, so the allow for it to take time to share the various important parts.


Dr. Schloneger weaves in info during sessions that can educate clients on lifestyle, selfcare, and relationships to support their life circumstances. He doesn’t made decisions for you but will offer tools and info for you to come to your own decisions. Dr. Schloneger challenges clients to help them look at options and positive and negative consequences to choices. Life’s choices often are complicated by a mix of favorable and challenging results. He enjoys working with adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Dr. Schloneger has worked with biological, blended, adoptive, and foster families in treatment. His history of treatment includes individuals and couples. Dr. Schloneger’s therapeutic experiences embrace people from various ethnicities, nationalities, and backgrounds.


He has addressed substance abuse/addictions (including sexual), transitional life stages/experiences, anger/stress/affect management, severe mental illness, life/coping skills, trauma/rape/child abuse, ministerial candidates/ministers, veterans, and parole/probation.
