About Rachel Young, LISW-S

Rachel Young earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work, and she recently completed her PhD in Health Psychology. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Health Psychology. She has over 10 years of experience providing clinical social work services in medical, child welfare and counseling settings. She has taught for Mount Vernon Nazarene University and Central Ohio Technical College. She has training in trust-based relational intervention. She has been published in the International Journal of Childbirth Education, Journal of Policy Practice, Journal of Adolescent Health and Journal of Drug Issues and has presented at the Addiction Health Services Research Conference. She focuses on providing counseling services to children and families and the elderly. She is familiar with trauma, behavioral challenges and children’s needs. She also has been the lead of an elderly counseling program focusing on the transition into retirement and finding purpose again. Rachel Young treats patients of all ages.
