Sam is a licensed clinical social worker who has been practicing since 2014, and has been with Lifestance since 2018. He graduated from University of North Carolina, Asheville with a BA in literature and psychology, and attained a Master of Social Work from University of North Carolina, Charlotte.

Sam believes the most important element of successful treatment is forming a working alliance with each client. He achieves this with empathy, genuineness, and striving to create a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere in each session. Sam utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused therapy techniques to assist each client in identifying goals and taking the necessary steps to achieve those goals. He has successfully treated a wide variety of clientele from all walks of life.

In his spare time, Sam believes in living a balanced life with a variety of interests. He enjoys hiking, running, lifting weights, traveling, and spending time with friends and family, but is equally content relaxing at home with video games, movies, and books. He is also a guitar player and enjoys all genres of music.
