Psychologist and Therapist in Austin, Texas Sara Sundstrom, PhD, LP

Sara Sundstrom, PhD, LP

Dr. Sundstrom is a licensed psychologist who has worked for over 20 years with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, effects of traumatic experiences, loss/grief, substance abuse, and adjustment issues. Having provided counseling and consultation in the workplace including military sites, she also specializes in job stress, coworker/supervisor relationships, career development, and managerial/leadership challenges.  Dr. Sundstrom received her advanced training in psychology from Iowa State University.  She is a wife, mother and grandmother who enjoys golf, swimming, tennis, and gardening.

Message from Dr. Sundstrom:  Men and women have come to see me because they are grieving the death of a loved one, are reeling from a broken relationship, feel anxious or fed-up, can’t remember the last time they had fun, are worried about their drinking habits, or feel a sense of despair about their life.

The prospect of seeing a therapist can feel very scary, but most people are relieved after talking about their concerns. A famous psychologist, Mary Pipher, once wrote, “Psychotherapy is a way of exploring pain and confusion to produce meaning and hope.”  I agree wholeheartedly.
