They can learn to manage or overcome a variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, communication issues, sex and intimacy issues, and life transition issues.

Common tools Shannon uses in session include active listening, psychoeducation, and strategies that build self-compassion. Her go-to modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Positive Psychology, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

With a Master’s degree in Social Work specializing in Mental Health from the University of Denver, Shannon’s previous experience includes working in an Intensive Day Treatment program with kids ages 6-14 with diagnoses of anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, autism, and disruptive/impulse-control/conduct disorders. She’s also a body-positive, sex-positive, and strength-based therapist, who’s LGBTQ+ and kink friendly.

In her spare time, Shannon enjoys photography, taking care of her many plants, playing music, and chilling out in nature.
