Sherra St Clair is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Doctor of Nursing. She has more than eight years of experience working with individuals and families with a wide range of behavioral health issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, and trauma. She entered the nursing field after 20 years as a Masters-prepared medical illustrator, where she created highly detailed, accurate illustrations and animations to teach healthcare providers and patients about medical procedures, anatomy, physiology, pathology, trauma, and surgery. Sherra is a deeply compassionate provider who welcomes patients of all genders and socioeconomic backgrounds. Sherra recognizes that each individual is the expert in their life experiences. She works to empower her patients through a genuine curiosity about their unique experiences, helping each individual recognize their strengths, worth, and potential. Sherra’s approach is to listen with an open heart and mind so that she can understand each individual’s unique experiences and perceptions. She works with the client and care team to pursue meaningful and achievable goals. She is a life-long learner who enjoys researching client challenges and implementing current evidence-based treatments. Sherra was inspired to pursue psychiatric nursing by several neonatal ICU nurses who lovingly changed the course of her life. She is the proud mom of two amazing individuals and a COVID rescue puppy named Poppy. Sherra spends her free time walking and hiking with her husband and Poppy, straw bale gardening, playing the piano, reading, and always learning something new.
