Stephanie Polan, LCSW (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed to practice in Illinois and North Carolina. She attended Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL and Aurora University in Aurora, IL. She has an extensive history working in crisis response roles and has experience working with victims of domestic violence. Stephanie is a neurodivergent affirming and LGBTQ+ friendly therapist with a passion to work with parents struggling with the transition to parenthood, postpartum disorders, and various other parenting concerns including parenting a special needs child. Stephanie is also passionate about working with helping professionals to address compassion fatigue and burnout as well as individuals struggling with ADHD and executive functioning difficulties. Stephanie believes in a humanistic approach to mental health. When addressing mental health, it is important to focus on the big picture and address all pieces that might be affecting the presenting issue. She works from a strengths-based perspective utilizing mindfulness and motivational interviewing while meeting clients where they are at in the process. Stephanie believes therapy is a collaborative approach between the therapist and the client. Stephanie enjoys spending time outside with family, crafting, curling up with a good book, or playing board games with friends.
