Martin Baker, LPC
Is there something missing in your job? Are your relationships stressful? Does it feel like your life is not the right fit for you? Martin Baker, Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado Springs, frequently hears these “out-of-balance” statements from his patients. He’s here to help you find your genuine self, make positive connections with loved ones, and live a life that’s suited for you.
Martin is a strong advocate for finding comfort with yourself, significant others, and careers, especially during life transitions. Having started his own career as a PricewaterhouseCoopers employee, he spent more hours traveling and working than with his family or enjoying his own interests. He lived through pressures (internally and externally) to sustain a job, lifestyle, and mentality that wasn’t serving him or his loved ones. However, turning to a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (from Regis University in Denver) was his right fit. Helping others find their true path is his daily reward. Martin’s professional and personal experiences make him skilled in helping patients move from feeling lost or out-of-place to finding authenticity, joy, and love.
Martin is also experienced in EMDR, giving patients a safe outlet to feel their emotions, uncover trauma, remember repressed memories, and/or heal wounds. He typically combines EMDR with journaling, vulnerability practices, and instilling self-compassion.
Outside of session, Martin takes delight in having built new, healthy relationships with himself, parents, wife, and two sons. He is eager to hear your unique story and supply you with courage to find your peaceful path.
