Therapist in Duluth, GA Abigail Kreisinger, LAPC

Abigail Kreisinger, LAPC

Abigail Kreisinger is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor in Georgia who has been practicing since 2022. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University, and she also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art from Oglethorpe University. Her past experience includes working with people in treatment for substance use disorders. She enjoys working with adults who experience general life anxiety, social anxiety, and struggle with life’s transitions and stepping into recovery from trauma, substance use, and disordered eating. Abigail utilizes a client-centered approach to meet each individual’s needs and uses techniques from a variety of methods such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), parts work, and relational psychotherapy.

When we don’t talk about our concerns or problems that come up in our lives, those worries get stored in our bodies and minds, and eventually so many concerns pile up that we turn towards coping skills, that work for a little while but can become problematic over time. When we start sharing about our worry or our hurt, it can be overwhelming but those unhelpful coping skills begin to fade and more helpful skills arise.

Abigail offers a soft space where we can become more aware of the worry and the hurt and how to take care of ourselves in the present moment. Building awareness of the patterns that we have repeated throughout our lives help us to step outside the pattern and practice new ways of doing things like communicating and connecting. Outside of work, Abigail enjoys taking care of plants, working on creative projects, taking walks, and spending time with friends.

Abigail is under the supervision of Amanda Marks, CPCS, LPC and Bill Mcleod, CPCS, LPC.
