Nida Haider, LPC
Let’s be real. Therapy can be scary! Sitting in front of a total stranger and sharing your deepest and possibly even darkest thoughts can sound terrifying. Well, I can definitely reassure you that, yes, while therapy can be scary, if your therapist is able to create a warm environment, making you feel seen and heard, it can very quickly become an appointment we look forward to! My goal is to make sure my therapy room is a judgement- free, safe space for my clients. I love using an eclectic, scientific- based and holistic approach to therapy. It is crucial for me as a therapist to make sure therapy is in collaboration with my clients and is tailored specifically for them. I enjoy combining various tools and forms of treatment when working with my clients. My current approaches include a combination of CBT, Internal Family Systems, Scientific- based elements of Art & Movement Therapy, Feminist Theory & Multicultural Theory and Play Therapy. I do have a passion for learning, and am dedicated to expanding my knowledge on various models and approaches! I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Benedictine University and my Masters in Latinx Mental Health Counseling and Trauma Therapy at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I will also be seeking formal training in Art & Movement Therapy in the near future. I have a passion for working with BIPOC populations as well as the LGBTQ+ population! As a person of color, myself, I feel a personal responsibility towards serving marginalized communities with a decolonized approach to therapy. I’m compassionate, open- minded, empathetic and committed to giving my clients the support they need in order to move their lives in a positive and forward direction.
