She has found that when providing counseling services, it is not only important for the individual to learn new tools and techniques but that it is also important that those around them are accepting of the changes that they wish to make in their lives. Having a supportive environment is crucial to making change and without this, change is that much more difficult to make. When individuals enter counseling those closest to them may find that they too must shift and change with the individual, and this is not always an easy feat. However, with support and collaboration this too can be the beginning of change
