Rosell Billingy, LCSW

Rosell Billingy enjoys helping children, teens and young adults learn how to cope with family changes, life transitions, behavior issues, school stressors, anxiety, depression, and difficulties regulating their emotions. She also works with parents to help them learn how to support their children and influence change at home by implementing effective coping and self-care skills. She believes that people can overcome challenging events when given the tools to communicate, cope and play.
Rosell’s fifteen-plus years of experience working in the Child Welfare field, community mental health and school social worker working primarily with Black and Brown families have provided her with a unique understanding of the daily stressors and mental health needs. She collaborates with schools and agencies to help advocate for her clients. She believes in working as a collaborative team to facilitate change.
Rosell’s goal is for children, teens, young adults, and parents to feel as comfortable as possible during sessions. She can understand that at times, it is difficult to be vulnerable however, her philosophy is about meeting people where they are at. Through conversations, activities, and games, she helps clients learn how to express themselves. Rosell also gives fun homework such as journaling, reciting positive affirmations and self- care activities. She will not give pop quizzes ever and homework is not graded! Using a strength- based, trauma- informed and social- emotional learning, she helps them develop personal goals, identity their strengths and learn effective coping skills.
Rosell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and first-generation college graduate from the Caribbean. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Human Services from New York City College of Technology and completed her graduate training at New York University School of Social Work. Rosell is well versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, positive psychology, self- esteem building, play therapy and grief counseling.
