Vito is a Licensed Mental Health Counseling, whose perspective on therapy emphasizes building an effective rapport with the client through unconditional compassion, support, validation and trust. He is a graduate of New York University’s Mental Health and Wellness program. Vito has been in the field of mental health for approximately 6 years where he provided therapeutic services to a wide variety of clients with both acute and chronic mental health conditions.

Vito’s scope of competence includes adult clients with different varieties of mental health conditions, adults and adolescent with Autism or Developmental Delay, and adolescent who suffer severe difficulties ranging from behavioral (Conduct Disorder & Oppositional Defiant Disorder), emotional (Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder), Psychiatric (Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, & Schizophrenia) and academic (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder).

Vito is also well versed in a number of treatment modalities including psychodynamics, where the goal is to help the client bridge the connection between the conscious and unconscious minds, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on managing contradicting thoughts and feelings in an effort to promote positive action, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, where the client receives psychoeducation about trauma, the opportunity to develop individually devised anxiety management tools and compose a trauma narrative in a well-paced and sensitive manner, and Collaborative Problem, where the parent and child problem solve a situation together, emphasizing the child lagging skills and the parents expectation. Each of these modalities has show success with many of Vito’s past clients and will continue to be effect for future clients.
