“Healing yourself is connected with healing others.” ~Yoko Ono
All humans are planted in a family & from our families, we develop our understanding of the world. Our familial experiences imprint messages, values, beliefs, ideologies & filters that become the schematic GPS for how we navigate the mountains & valleys of our human existence. In my service as a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, it has become clear that universally everyone’s life has some degree of pain that leaves emotional wounds. These wounds tend to evolve into disruptive behavioral patterns that have systemic effects on the people we love, work with, go to school with, & people within our communities. Psychotherapy becomes the medium for healing by improving awareness, increasing compassion, & cultivating greater understanding. These skills become tools for bridging differing perspectives, which help the clients learn practical communication skills that encourage tangible expressions of love & tenderness.
My name is Vivian Tyler. I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, holding certifications in Grief Counseling & Family Trauma. I have had the privilege of serving individuals, couples, & families from all walks of life. Many of my clients have sought psychotherapeutic services for loss & grief, including terminal & chronic illness, adverse obstetric outcomes, & suicide loss survivors. Additionally, I specialize in intergenerational family trauma associated with adverse childhood experiences resulting in pathological issues. My approach to therapy is rooted in systemic therapies, which are universal treatment modalities that explore an individual’s psychosocial & family developmental processes. The unearthing of the client’s developmental processes allows the Clinician to gain insight into how the problem emerged & how we can collaboratively create strategies that improve the quality of your life. My Clinical experience has challenged & made a positive impact on people from various walks of life.
Moreover, my work with Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) & other oppressed & marginalized communities is infused with lived- experiences that equip me with insights that curate an empathic synergy of compassion. My mission offers a space for introspection, contemplation, & behavioral transformation that has a reverberative effect on everyone in your sphere of influence. It would be my privilege to take part in your journey toward healing & wholeness.
