Overview

This group will aid adults in their eating disorder recovery by increasing motivation, patience, and hope. Identify the difference between their eating disorder self vs. healthy self. Understand what part of their eating disorder is about the food and what is not about the food. Learn the importance of feeling our feelings. Challenge eating disorder thoughts and work on changing behaviors. Understand the importance of utilizing supports and find meaning and purpose.

Clients to purchase 8 Keys To Recovery From An Eating Disorder BOOK & WORKBOOK by Carolyn Costin & Gwen Schubert (Amazon two book set $43.00). Read through Key 1 in the book, prior to the first group session (you may skip the chapters leading up to Key 1, if you wish) and complete select assignments. Please complete all weekly assigned homework and readings and bring both the book and workbook to every session.

I work from a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, Strengths Based approach. I earned an Eating Disorder Certificate in 2023, from Lewis & Clark College. I earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019, from George Fox University and a Bachelor of Arts in Social and Behavioral Studies in 2016, from George Fox University.
