Are Online Appointments As Effective As In-Person Appointments?
When you make an online appointment with a LifeStance provider, you can rest easy knowing that LifeStance is working to deliver online appointments that are secure, effective, and covered by most insurances. You will be connected with a psychiatrist, psychologist, advanced nurse practitioner, or licensed therapist who works in our local offices, but you will be able to see them from the comfort of your own home or office. In some cases, online appointments are not appropriate and in person visits may be needed. Your clinician will let you know if an in-person session is needed.
-
Effective Treatment – Research shows that in some cases, online services can be as effective as in-person appointments when it comes to treating certain mental health conditions. Some people find that online is more effective because it makes attending appointments easier.

Covered by Insurance – Most insurance policies that cover mental and behavioral health services cover online appointments as well. Our clinicians work with most major insurance providers to ensure you can access the care you need.
-
Secure Technology – We use secure technology to keep your personal health information private. All online appointments are subject to the same strict HIPAA standards as in-person sessions.

Online Appointments FAQs
LifeStance offers both online and in-person appointments. Depending on your circumstances, if you prefer online sessions only, you may be able to get the treatment you need entirely online. If you want to see your provider in-person sometimes, or all the time, you have the flexibility to do that as well.
For your appointment, you will need to have access to a private place and a computer/tablet/smartphone with a camera and a high-speed internet connection. LifeStance will provide you with access to the videoconferencing software. All you have to do is be on your device and logged on at the time of your appointment.
We will send you directions on how to log in after you set up and confirm your appointment.
In some cases, individuals who are unable to attend onsite appointments may be able to receive prescriptions and/or manage their medication through online psychiatry accessed using an internet-connected device from a private space. Your clinician will inform you if an in-person visit is needed.
LifeStance is committed to ensuring that the interaction between the individual and the psychiatrist/therapist is private, secure, and HIPAA compliant.
