Kimberly Barnett is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina and has been in practice since 2022. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Psychology & Criminology from UNC Wilmington, and received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UNC Charlotte. She is a nationally certified counselor. Her mission is to help people by meeting them where they are in their journey, whether that is ready for change, afraid of change, or unsure of where to start. She offers support and comfort by providing a safe place for individuals to find purpose, perspective, overcome challenges, and focus on personal growth. Her main modality of treatment is emotionally focused therapy, which is scientifically proven to help with a variety of issues for individuals, couples, and families. When clinically appropriate, she may also incorporate other therapeutic interventions stemming from solution-focused, cognitive behavioral, and existential therapy. She tailors her approach to the unique needs of each client, taking into consideration a person’s mindset, goals, obstacles, culture, and unique strengths. Outside of work, Kimberly enjoys reading, listening to music, podcasts, watching Gilmore Girls, traveling, spending time with family and cuddling with her cats.
