Dr. Larry Bascom has expertise in treating children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples with a wide range of issues. He specializes in working with children experiencing school-related problems, including learning, social, or behavioral difficulties, and ADHD. He works closely with parents and teachers in developing effective treatment strategies for their children and students. He helps parents recognize how they can best support their children in developing their greatest potential. He has worked extensively with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and recovery from trauma.

Dr. Bascom has taught graduate classes in child psychotherapy and ADHD at Antioch University. He has also lectured to numerous community groups on a wide range of parenting issues, including self-esteem, discipline, sex education, adolescence, and the impact of media on children. He is an adjunct supervisor for the Psychology Assessment Center at UCSB. Before moving to Santa Barbara he was the clinical director of the Therapeutic School at the Julia Ann Singer Center. He is the former president of the Santa Barbara County Psychological Association.

Dr. Bascom earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology after earning his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Stanford University.
