Nan MacLean is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Nan has a comprehensive approach to mental health with compassion and understanding. Nan has a primary focus on mental health care through healthy lifestyles, mindfulness, personal empowerment, and medication management. She specializes in trauma-informed care and self-actualization. Before pursuing her dreams in the medical field, Nan has a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and a master’s degree in biology. She also has two master’s degrees in areas of psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from Case Western Reserve University and The Ohio State University She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree from The Ohio State University with a focus on holistic mental health care.

Before becoming a PMHNP, Nan worked as a registered nurse in various areas of mental health care from correctional medicine, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, to addiction medicine. From her diverse experience, Nan understands the importance of treating the whole person for their mind, body, and spirit. Nan is bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, journaling, and spending time with family and friends.

Just had my visit with Dr Nan We discussed many issues today and are working on a plan to resolve the issues a hand right now she always does a wonderful job listening to what I got to say and always a good way of resolving that issue she's right up top there with the best doctors that I've ever had work with me and she's side by side with the doctor that is the best one which is her mentor I can tell you that she listens well & he teaches her well he was a great doctor when I had him at the VA and I'm honored to have her as a doctor under her care as of being under her care now I feel that I still have that same quality that he gave me through her so I can tell you from that experience I can see it coming out in her... Nan McClean my Amazing and truly supportive Psychiatrist. I had the honor and privilege to have as a care Mental Health Professional. I was able to make great progress with my anxiety, depression and her recommendations for test of being on the spectrum. I was diagnosed as on the spectrum. Nan MacLean is a highly knowledgeable and intelligent psychiatrist. I have a chronic illness and have struggled with psychiatrist care in the past because of that— she always takes my concerns into consideration and works with me instead of over me. She goes above and beyond with her care through her strong critical thinking skills. She is just generally a very kind and sensitive individual, a person easy to trust with your health.

Nan has been working with me on my meds and the weight I have gained on them even if it means switching meds, and with a med switch she is already very thoughtful of the process before we reach it. She has also sussed out that I have PTSD and has encouraged me to talk to my Therapist about it. Over all I have been impressed with Nan.
