Mr. Philip Sloan, Psy.D, Post-Doc,
About Mr. Philip Sloan (He/Him)
Philip Sloan helps teens and adults navigate emotional challenges, build practical coping skills, and create meaningful change in their lives through evidence-based mental health care. As a therapist with LifeStance Health, he works with patients across Massachusetts who are seeking support for concerns such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD. He is committed to creating a collaborative, affirming therapeutic environment where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to reach their goals.
Philip has experience providing individual and group therapy for teens, adults, and older adults. He tailors treatment to each person’s unique needs, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and other research-supported interventions. His approach emphasizes both self-understanding and skill development, helping patients strengthen resilience while addressing day-to-day challenges that can interfere with emotional well-being, relationships, school, work, and overall quality of life. He also offers psychological testing and neuropsychological testing as part of his comprehensive clinical services.
Philip is particularly passionate about helping individuals struggling with sleep difficulties and insomnia. He understands the significant impact that sleep can have on mental and physical health and incorporates CBT for Insomnia, an evidence-based intervention designed to improve sleep patterns and restore healthy functioning. He enjoys helping patients identify factors contributing to sleep problems and develop long-term strategies that support restorative rest and overall wellness.
In addition to treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and sleep-related concerns, Philip offers support for grief and other emotional and behavioral challenges. He values building strong therapeutic relationships and believes that meaningful progress often begins with creating a safe space where patients can explore their experiences without judgment. His work is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and a commitment to helping people develop practical tools for lasting change.
Philip completed his education at William James College and Curry College, where he developed a strong foundation in psychological assessment and evidence-based therapeutic practices.
Outside of clinical work, Philip enjoys spending time with his two cats, Lyle and Beignet. His interests include building custom PCs, collecting audio gear, modding mechanical keyboards, listening to progressive rock music, gaming, cooking, swimming, walking outdoors, and following Boston Celtics basketball. He is also a longtime science fiction fan who especially enjoys the Star Wars universe and The Mandalorian.
Philip welcomes adolescents, adults, and older adults throughout Massachusetts who are seeking therapy, psychological testing, or support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, insomnia, and other mental health concerns.
Mr. Philip Sloan provides services with supervision.
