After having many repeated traumatic experiences with psychiatrists and therapists alike, my trust in the instituion of psychiatry was so shattered and low that the only psychiatrist I trusted and was willing to see was Dr. Dustan. I'm so deeply grateful, after a miscommunication with an administrative staff member, that Dr. Dustan replied directly and swiftly to my email to her assuring me that the practice accepted my insurance coverage. From my very first visit with her, in spite of reeling from significant breach of trust with another provider, the way Dr. Dunstan was present with me and for me in our session created not just safety for me as a patient, but also generated hope: a hope that in spite of a seemingly interminable set of experiences that signaled to me that I was unsupportable as a patient, and that I would never experience sustained psycho-emotional safety with any licensed therapist or psychiatrist, it might be possible for me to experience psychiatric care that was safe in a sustained and ongoing way. I'm so deeply grateful, particularly inside of one of the most traumatic and destabilizing years of my life of unrelenting catastrophic loss, Dr. Dunstan has gone far and above living up to the hope my first visit with her instilled in me: through her engaged, attuned presence and the sincere curiousity she has turned to me with, the way she has consistently met me without trying to manage or control the inner experience I share with her -- Dr. Dunstan is through every visit expanding the trust and safety I imagined it was possible to experience in my psychiatric care. I have experienced through her the embodiment of a kind of care I only thought possible outside of or with the dismantling of the very instution of psychiatry. Dr. Dunstan's care, in just the few months I have been seeing them, gives me hope not only for what is possible for my own care, but for the future of care itself -- that a future of liberatory care is possible becasue providers like Dr. Dunstan are creating and bringing us closer to it every day.

I would reccomend her to ANYONE seeking medication management. She is compassionate, listens and takes your concerns into consideration before giving her recommendation. I may have only had 1 appointment with her but to finding someone you connect with on a first visit is rare and she makes me want to actually continue taking my meds when every other time I've attempted, I have failed and got off them. Very hard to find humans like this anymore

Dr. Dunstan is an incredibly caring and thorough psychiatrist. I was previously with the same psychiatrist in NYC for 10 years and a relocation forced me to find a new provider. I am fortunate to have found an equally wonderful, caring, and competent doctor who I have now been with for the past 3 years. If you are looking for a professional who truly listens while attentive, compassionate, non-judgemental, and diligent, look no further.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Dunstan for a few years now, and I’d recommend her to anyone. She has been able to help me figure out a medication regimen that has really helped me live a more functional life after years of feeling like this wouldn’t be possible for me. She is empathetic, knowledgeable and is always up front about the pros/cons and potential side effects of all recommended treatments. Thank you for your help!

My psychiatrist is awesome. As someone that is LGBTQ+ myself, it's suuper important and a priority of mine to have someone strongly involved in the LGBTQ+ community either as an ally or as member themself. I feel like I'm understood and seen! That said, I can't speak for/about any of the other doctors and psychiatrists at LifeStance so i don't know the quality of their assistance. Do your research... iykwim

I just started services with Dr. Dunstan at LifeStance Health, and the experience so far has been a relief. Dr. Dunstan was informative, and easy to talk to, creating a space that feels safe and welcoming. LifeStance also made the whole process—scheduling, communication, and getting started—really smooth. I’m looking forward to continuing care with them.
