Rima Salem, MS, LMFT
Specializes In:
Rima is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 15 years of clinical experience working with a variety of individuals, children, and families on their goals for overall health and wellbeing. Rima began her professional career as an elementary school teacher, where she developed a desire to help her students and families cope with the stressors in life that made education challenging. Witnessing the struggles of the children in her classroom left a lasting impression on Rima, and she knew that she wanted to help the community in a different way. Rima received a Master of Science degree from California State at Fullerton and has since worked as a therapist, a clinical supervisor, and an executive director for community mental health programs.
Rima has had an extensive history working with individuals who enter counseling for trauma exposure, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, ADHD, parenting and couples support, family therapy, and a variety of other life challenges. She also spent over 10 years as a clinical supervisor guiding new therapists with their clinical work. Rima believes that no one should ever feel alone in their struggles, and her approach is to compassionately support her clients to improve their wellbeing. Although Rima is trained in several theoretical approaches and evidence-based practices, she feels that the most valuable part of a healing treatment model is the therapeutic relationship she has with her clients.
