Marsalee Malatesta, LCSW, helps adolescents, adults, and seniors across California navigate life’s challenges with compassion and evidence-based care. At LifeStance Health, she creates a supportive and nonjudgmental space where clients can heal, grow, and regain balance in their lives. Whether someone is facing anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship difficulties, Marsalee provides personalized treatment that promotes long-term emotional wellness and resilience.

With over two decades of experience, Marsalee specializes in treating anxiety, bipolar disorder, and PTSD/trauma. She uses an integrative therapeutic approach grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness to help clients develop insight and practical coping strategies. Her expertise also extends to working with individuals experiencing medical or neurological conditions, substance use challenges, and mood disorders, as well as supporting first responders, women, and those with developmental disabilities.

Marsalee is especially passionate about helping individuals manage grief and loss. She understands that grief can take many forms—whether from the passing of a loved one, major life transitions, or changes in health—and believes in the importance of holding space for these experiences with empathy and care. Her work focuses on guiding clients toward acceptance, self-compassion, and renewed purpose as they adjust to life after loss.

Her clinical experience spans inpatient, outpatient, and intensive treatment programs, giving her a deep understanding of complex mental health needs and how to support clients at every stage of recovery. Marsalee’s approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in helping people strengthen their sense of self and connection to others.

Outside of her professional life, Marsalee enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors, and capturing nature’s beauty through photography. She also practices yoga and pilates to maintain balance and mindfulness in her daily life.
