Laine believes that therapy allows us to think about ourselves and the world differently, alleviate distress, reflect on and change our behavior, and be more fully seen and understood. At times, therapy requires difficult and uncomfortable conversations, exploring things that we would rather not and having a witness to parts of ourselves we want to hide. When the work you do in therapy is challenging, Laine will meet this discomfort with validation, compassion, humor, accountability, and support.

Laine is well versed in working with people experiencing depression, mood dysregulation/bipolar, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, family and relationship conflict, crisis, suicidality, and issues related to gender identity and sexual orientation. She draws from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing with a trauma informed and relational lens.

Laine holds a Master’s degree in social work and has over 15 years of experience as a mental health professional. Laine has lived experience as a woman of color and a member of the queer community; these identities help Laine better understand her clients. Outside of work, she enjoys taking her dog for walks, going to the movies, reading for book club, and spending time with family. She grew up in Colorado, and is grateful to live and work in a place she loves.
