Cara Dargan helps teens and adults make sense of overwhelming emotions, persistent stress, and patterns that no longer serve them, offering thoughtful, individualized mental health care to patients across Massachusetts. Practicing at LifeStance Health, she provides a supportive and collaborative therapy experience grounded in clinical skill and genuine human connection, helping people feel safer, more confident, and more aligned with their values as they navigate life in Massachusetts. Cara provides individual therapy for teens, young adults, and adults. She commonly works with concerns such as anxiety, ADHD, and trauma-related symptoms, while also supporting individuals managing mood disorders, life transitions, and stress connected to health or chronic pain. Her work is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based approaches, helping patients build emotional flexibility, strengthen coping skills, and move toward meaningful change. In addition to these core areas, she offers support for a range of other mental health needs. Cara is especially passionate about trauma-informed care and helping clients understand how past experiences, attachment patterns, and environmental stressors shape present-day thoughts and behaviors. She focuses on creating a nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their stories, reconnect with their values, and develop a healthier relationship with themselves. By integrating mindfulness and values-based work, she helps individuals process difficult experiences while building resilience and a clearer sense of direction. She has experience supporting individuals from adoption and foster care backgrounds, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Cara is known for her open-minded, accepting style and for using appropriate humor to help clients feel at ease in therapy. Outside of her clinical work, Cara enjoys spending time with her two rescue pets, especially training her dog to reduce anxiety and reactivity. She values music, live shows with friends, creative hobbies like embroidery and crocheting, video games, and family game nights. Cara is proud to support teens and adults throughout Massachusetts at LifeStance Health.
