Finn Welch, MSW, LCSW,
About Finn Welch (He/Him)
Finn Welch helps adolescents, teens, and adults navigate emotional and behavioral challenges with compassion, practical guidance, and evidence-based therapy. At LifeStance Health, he works with patients throughout Massachusetts, providing a supportive space where individuals can build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful change. Finn specializes in helping people manage anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma, while also supporting those facing a variety of other mental health concerns.
One area Finn is particularly passionate about is helping young people overcome school avoidance and related challenges. He understands how anxiety, emotional distress, and life events can affect school attendance, academic performance, and confidence. Through a collaborative and individualized approach, he helps teens and young adults identify barriers, develop healthy coping strategies, and regain a sense of empowerment in their daily lives. His experience also includes working with ADHD, childhood behavior issues, and alcohol and drug use concerns.
Finn tailors treatment to each person’s unique goals and experiences, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based techniques. He provides individual therapy and group therapy, helping patients develop practical skills to manage emotions, improve relationships, and navigate stressful situations. He has experience supporting adolescents and adults from a variety of backgrounds, including individuals involved in adoption and foster care as well as those on the autism spectrum. He also offers support for additional mental health concerns and life challenges beyond his primary areas of focus.
Before entering clinical practice, Finn developed a strong foundation in understanding human behavior and the importance of building authentic therapeutic relationships. He earned his education through Springfield College, where he developed the knowledge and skills that continue to inform his patient-centered approach to care.
Outside of work, Finn enjoys spending time outdoors, especially running and hiking. He is also a dedicated fan of Boston sports teams and enjoys attending games whenever possible. When relaxing, he appreciates a great movie and spending time reading in a cozy spot.
Finn is committed to helping patients across Massachusetts develop confidence, improve emotional well-being, and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life. Whether someone is seeking support for anxiety, trauma, depression, school avoidance, or other mental health concerns, he provides compassionate, individualized care designed to meet their unique needs.
