About Sheila Danaher (She/Her)

Sheila Danaher helps teens and adults build resilience, navigate life’s challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change through compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. At LifeStance Health, she serves patients throughout Massachusetts, providing a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients can address anxiety, trauma, depression, and other emotional concerns. Sheila works collaboratively with each individual to identify strengths, develop effective coping strategies, and move toward greater balance and well-being.

Sheila is especially passionate about supporting women through life transitions and mental health challenges that are often overlooked or misunderstood. Her work includes helping individuals experiencing perinatal and postpartum mental health concerns, PMDD and hormone-related challenges, reproductive issues, body image concerns, and trauma. She recognizes the unique ways these experiences can affect emotional health, relationships, self-esteem, and daily functioning, and she tailors treatment to help clients feel empowered, understood, and supported.

Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches, Sheila helps clients gain practical tools for managing anxiety disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), PTSD and trauma, and mood disorders. She works with both teens and adults through individual and group therapy, creating treatment plans that reflect each client’s goals, values, and lived experiences. Sheila also has experience supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community and offers additional support for a wide range of mental health and wellness concerns beyond her primary specialties.

With experience across community mental health settings, crisis intervention, urgent care, and complex clinical cases, Sheila brings a well-rounded perspective to her work. She is particularly skilled in supporting individuals navigating substance use concerns and co-occurring mental health conditions, helping clients strengthen insight, build healthy habits, and develop sustainable strategies for recovery and growth.

Sheila earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and her Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Cambridge College. She remains committed to lifelong learning and continued professional development to ensure her patients receive high-quality, informed care.

Outside of the therapy office, Sheila enjoys dancing, practicing yoga and Pilates, exploring nature with her dog, spending time with her young daughter, hiking, swimming, camping, reading, creating art, enjoying music, and studying Ayurveda. These interests reinforce her belief in the connection between physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Sheila is dedicated to helping individuals throughout Massachusetts find healing, strengthen self-awareness, and build fulfilling lives. Whether someone is seeking therapy for anxiety, OCD, trauma, depression, postpartum mental health concerns, or other emotional challenges, she provides thoughtful, personalized care grounded in both clinical expertise and genuine compassion.
