Ashley Vachon is a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) at Child and Family Psychological Services who provides evaluation, consultation, and individual therapy to children adolescents, and adults. She provides a holistic approach to treatment that is individually tailored to your needs through processing and validating your experiences, helping reframe negative beliefs, teaching new distress management strategies, honoring losses, and empowering you to become the person you want to be. She specializes in working with children and adolescents experiencing adjustment disorder, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and social difficulties. Moreover, she supports children and adolescents who have experienced loss, grief, and trauma. In addition to her experience with youth, she has significant experience providing treatment to adults with mood and anxiety disorders as well as adjustment issues, particularly related to women’s health, loss, trauma, and significant life changes such as relationship challenges, job changes, and other life stressors. Drawing from a number of evidence-based practices, she utilizes a strengths-based, trauma-informed, person-in-environment framework to create an individualized treatment plan based on the needs of each individual and family. These modalities include cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, DBT, and mindfulness-based stress reduction. She also helps clients build skills including communication enhancement, relaxation techniques, and distress tolerance strategies.
