About Anish Nakahara (He/Him)

Anish Nakahara helps teens, adults, and older adults throughout Massachusetts find meaningful ways to navigate emotional challenges, strengthen their sense of identity, and build a life that feels more authentic and manageable. As a therapist at LifeStance Health, he creates a welcoming, judgment-free space where clients can explore their experiences with curiosity and self-compassion. Anish works with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health concerns, helping them develop practical tools for lasting growth and emotional well-being.

Anish is especially passionate about supporting autistic individuals and people with other neurodivergent or neurodevelopmental differences. He recognizes that many neurodivergent individuals have spent years adapting to environments that were not designed with their needs in mind. His approach focuses on helping clients better understand themselves, embrace their strengths, and develop strategies that support success in everyday life. He also enjoys working with individuals exploring identity development and those seeking affirming mental health care in a space where authenticity is valued.

Drawing from evidence-based approaches, Anish integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into his work while tailoring treatment to each client’s unique goals. He has experience supporting individuals with ADHD, anxiety, and trauma-related concerns, while also providing care for LGBTQ+ individuals, military veterans, and people with developmental disabilities. In addition to these areas, he offers support for a wide range of mental health and life challenges.

Anish began practicing in 2025 and brings a thoughtful and creative perspective informed by his studies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Lesley University. He believes therapy should be collaborative, empowering, and adaptable to the unique needs of each person. His work emphasizes self-understanding, resilience, and helping clients move toward lives that feel more connected and fulfilling.

Outside of the therapy office, Anish enjoys theatre, writing, games, and crafts. He embraces the idea of trying new things simply for the joy of learning and creating, and he appreciates the value of curiosity, creativity, and play. These interests reflect the warmth and openness he brings to his clinical work.

Anish welcomes teens, adults, and older adults across Massachusetts who are seeking support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, neurodivergence, and other mental health concerns. Through LifeStance Health, he is committed to providing compassionate, affirming, and evidence-based therapy that helps clients build confidence, resilience, and meaningful change.
