Helen Miller, LSCSW, helps adults navigate complex emotional and life challenges with steady, compassionate, and clinically grounded care. Practicing at LifeStance Health, she provides individual therapy to adults and seniors across Missouri, supporting patients who are seeking relief from distress, stability during transitions, and a path toward meaningful, sustainable change. Her approach is collaborative and respectful, helping patients feel understood while working toward practical, evidence-based outcomes.

A central focus of Helen’s work is supporting individuals who have been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital and those participating in court-ordered treatment. She is especially passionate about helping patients regain a sense of control, rebuild routines, and strengthen coping skills during these high-stress and often vulnerable periods. Helen brings clarity, structure, and encouragement to treatment, helping patients move forward with dignity and confidence while addressing safety, accountability, and long-term wellness.

In her broader clinical work, Helen treats alcohol and drug use disorders, depression, and anxiety, while also addressing related concerns such as trauma and major life transitions when appropriate. She works with adults, including older adults, and has experience supporting first responders and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Her therapeutic approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies, with additional interventions available as clinically indicated.

Helen has been practicing since 1984 and brings decades of clinical experience to her work. Outside of therapy, she is passionate about animal welfare and rescue, values deep and meaningful friendships, is committed to helping eradicate homelessness, and enjoys trying new things. She continues to approach both her personal and professional life with curiosity, empathy, and purpose.
