Matthew L. Williams is a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey who has been practicing since 2016. He has an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, ACS credential for Clinical Supervision, and CCTP certification for Trauma Treatment. Much of Matthew’s experience is centered around working with adolescents in multiple levels of care settings (e.g., outpatient to partial hospitalization) with things like mood disorders, self-esteem issues, interpersonal effectiveness needs, and parent-child relational issues to name a few of areas. With his young adult/older-adult clients, much of what Matthew has seen is a need for support through life-transitions, assessing and increasing life satisfaction, and overall short/long term goal setting.

His specialties include anxiety, trauma, depression, and social skills. Matthew has experience working with teens and adults with numerous presenting issues and his main modality is Solution-Focused therapy, a strength focused perspective based on future-talk/increasing protective factors that focus on whatever you want out of your therapeutic journey. Matthew’s non-judgmental attitude and trauma-informed style can help when you’re ready to start. Good therapy usually relies on being paired with someone that you can relate to and feel comfortable with, and someone who inherently believes in you and your potential, while at the same time knows how to help guide you amidst your work towards change. If you would like to work with Matthew specifically, please book an appointment.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys playing keyboard-piano, guitar, reading books, watching movies, listening to music, traveling, and drawing.
