Mary C. Wiggins is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia with over 15 years of experience. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University and Master of Education degree from George Mason University in Counseling and Development, Community Agency Counseling. Mary’s counseling philosophy and primary approach is to meet the client where they are, working collaboratively with warmth and compassion to tailor each client’s treatment around their unique circumstance. She is passionate about helping clients to see their own strengths and potential and to gain the ability to resolve the issue(s) they may be experiencing. Mary uses cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused, client-centered, family systems and mindfulness therapeutic techniques to help clients reach their treatment goals and make the necessary changes for overall happiness and a healthier outlook. Mary has a special interest in the mental health of women; and helping families improve communications challenges and coping skills during difficult times. She also has a strong background in Career Counseling, helping clients discover their strengths and passions and to find more meaningful work. In her free time, Mary enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and enjoying nature, music and the arts.
