Maggie Davis, MA, LPC
Specializes In:
Maggie Davis is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia who has been practicing since 2022. She holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and a background in Business–Human Resource Management from Strayer University, and is currently pursuing a second Master’s in Applied Psychology. Maggie believes therapy works best when you don’t feel like you have to perform, filter, or “get it right.” She focuses on creating a space that is safe, non-judgmental, and grounded in progress—not perfection—where clients can show up as they are and begin to make meaningful change.
Maggie works with individuals navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder (BPD), obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD), relationship challenges, life transitions, career or academic stress, LGBTQ+ concerns, military family life, spirituality, chronic pain, and stress management. Her approach is collaborative, practical, and rooted in evidence-based practices, primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building real-life skills to manage patterns that feel overwhelming, reactive, or stuck.
Clients can expect a balance of warmth and honesty in Maggie’s work. She is engaged and interactive in sessions—offering insight, asking thoughtful questions, and gently challenging unhelpful patterns—while still holding space for the messy, complicated parts of being human. The first session is focused on getting to know you, understanding what brought you to therapy, and beginning to identify goals at a pace that feels comfortable. Outside of therapy, Maggie enjoys houseplants, video games, and spending time with her dogs—which mostly just means she understands the need for both structure and an escape sometimes.
