Amanda Strain, MS, MFT Associate,
About Amanda Strain (She/Her)
Amanda Strain helps teens and adults build resilience, strengthen relationships, and navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and emotional well-being. Serving patients throughout Tennessee through LifeStance Health, she provides compassionate, evidence-based therapy tailored to each individual’s goals, helping clients make meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. Amanda works with individuals, couples, and families facing concerns such as anxiety, depression, and alcohol and drug use issues. Her therapeutic approach is collaborative and practical, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR to help clients better understand their experiences, develop healthier coping strategies, and move toward personal growth. In addition to these areas of expertise, she offers support for a variety of other mental health and relationship concerns. A significant focus of Amanda’s work is helping people whose lives have been impacted by substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. She understands that recovery is a deeply personal process and believes in meeting clients where they are without judgment. By creating a supportive therapeutic environment, she helps clients identify strengths, address underlying issues, and develop sustainable tools for long-term wellness and recovery. Amanda also values the importance of healthy relationships and family connections. Through individual, couples, and family therapy, she helps clients improve communication, resolve conflict, and foster stronger, more fulfilling relationships. Her experience working with teens allows her to support young people and their families during important developmental transitions and challenges. She earned degrees from Capella University and Dallas Baptist University, bringing a strong academic foundation to her clinical practice while maintaining a warm, approachable style that helps clients feel comfortable and understood. Outside of her professional work, Amanda enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending live music events, reading, writing, and painting. These creative and personal interests contribute to her appreciation for self-expression, connection, and balance. Patients across Tennessee seeking therapy for anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, relationship challenges, trauma, and other mental health needs can find supportive care with Amanda at LifeStance Health.
