Alexa Burgess is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in New Jersey. She received her Bachelor’s of Arts & Science in Psychology from Rutgers University and her Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling with a specialization in Family Counseling from Capella University. Completing her internship at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. Prior to transitioning to private practice, Alexa worked at Saint Peter’s University Hospital’s Partial Hospitalization Program from 2013 to 2020. Alexa follows a philosophy that everyone has a unique story to share and through therapy, a person’s story can be shared in a way that allows for the person to walk away with greater strength, personal growth, and resiliency. Her main areas of focus include Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused methods, Family Focused treatment and Marriage/Couples Counseling. In her spare time, Alexa enjoys spending time with her family going outside, finding new recipes to cook, researching and planning new places to travel to, as well as playing the piano and visiting close friends.
