Brennan Champagne, LMHC

Brennan Champagne is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington who has been practicing since 2020. He received his Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Gonzaga University in 2014 and his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gonzaga University in 2020. Brennan believes effective counseling and positive overall outcomes hinge on meeting the client where they are at and building a safe and secure relationship. He approaches each session recognizing the infinite value of every person and the unwavering dignity we each deserve. He believes humans also have limitless capacity for continued growth, change, and development. Brennan strives to provide a safe and nurturing environment where his clients are able to explore, reflect, learn, and grow in myriad arenas of their lives. He sees each of us as a story that’s unfolding every second of every day and his role as a counselor is helping his clients pick up the pen again when their lives have become stagnant. Walking alongside these individuals while they tackle critical concerns in their life and navigate mental, emotional, and relational difficulties. It’s through this journey that Brennan has seen many of his clients unfold and get the chance to rewrite their story, to tell a new, more authentic tale of themselves and their experiences. He has witnessed them start to live their lives anew and in a more fulfilling way in a better and more holistic relationship with themselves and others. Brennan has spent approximately 4 years in community mental health settings in various roles both locally to Spokane and also in the greater Seattle area. He has utilized a number of various modalities and worked with a broad range of client presentations and primary concerns. Approaching every client through a trauma-informed lens has been foundational to his work. Evidenced based approaches he has experience with include solution-focused, ACT, CBT, and DBT, while he also finds he can integrate other humanistic approaches such as person-centered, narrative, and existential therapies into his work with clients. Brennan also emphasizes a client’s strengths and values in treatment and capitalized on those to foster resiliency on the journey towards recovery. Outside of work, Brennan enjoys anything outdoors, whether that’s a walk through the neighborhood or an overnight backpacking trip, playing rec league soccer and pickup basketball, board games with friends, going to movies, exploring new restaurants and coffee shops, exercise and yoga, spending time relaxing with a good book, travelling and exploring a new city or country.
