Dr. Peterson is a clinical health psychologist with 30 years of experience promoting evidence-based preventive and behavioral medicine. She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Memphis and completed her internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Worcester State Hospital and the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

While on the faculty at UMass Medical School, Dr. Peterson served clients in a comprehensive cancer center, a primary care office, and a hospital-based behavioral medicine clinic. Her experience includes individual and group psychotherapy, collaborative research, teaching, administration, and corporate consulting.

Dr. Peterson’s areas of interest include wellness promotion, mindfulness/cognitive-behavioral-based stress management, adjustment to illness, coping with grief and loss, insomnia, anxiety and depression, end-of-life concerns, and performance promotion. She works with individuals ages 18 and older and provides consultations and workshops for healthcare providers, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. Dr. Peterson welcomes your questions.
