About Tristan Maynard (They/Them)
Tristan is a licensed social worker and Master of Social Work student at The Ohio State University who earned their Bachelor of Science in Social Work degree in 2025. They have professional experience in providing case management services for women survivors of domestic/interpersonal violence and trauma, as well as several years of research experience in mental health and diagnostic outcomes, substance abuse, and child welfare.
Tristan brings curiosity, humility, and genuine care to their work, and by emphasizing compassion, non-judgment, and collaboration, they offer a relaxed, secure space where clients feel valued and can freely be their most authentic selves. Tristan is a deeply attentive listener who utilizes a strengths-based approach to meet each client where they are and help them to reach goals that are truly their own. Through their work, Tristan seeks to empower clients and promote sustainable, long-term emotional well-being and healing.
Tristan is especially passionate about working with adolescents and adults who may identify as LGBTQ+ or have histories of trauma, and those who face anxiety, low self-esteem, ADHD, and OCD. Tailoring their treatment methods to each person’s unique needs and goals, Tristan utilizes an evidence-based, eclectic approach in therapy, informed by clinical research, professional experience, and personal understanding. As a student clinician, they are developing therapeutic skills in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
Outside of work, Tristan is happiest in the mountains and travels with their husband to explore them whenever they can. Tristan is an avid gamer and particularly enjoys playing RPGs and TTRPGs, and often spends their free time drafting ideas for their latest TTRPG campaign. They love to explore new music and attend live concerts, practice creative writing, read fiction and non-fiction, spend time with their two cats, and craft candles.
Tristan provides services with supervision.
