Kayla welcomes you into a non-judgmental, comfortable environment and a safe therapeutic relationship where you can address your concerns. She’ll offer you understanding and empathy, as well as some humor and metaphors, believing both have their place in session as they can promote an open, genuine connection.
Depression, anxiety, PTSD, and attachment concerns are just some personal challenges that Kayla feels can be interrelated, and thus can help address by them by treating each client as a whole person. Other lifestyle aspects, like nutrition, spirituality, and support systems, also can be examined during the therapy process.
Kayla meets her clients where they’re at and tailors therapy to fit what works best for them. She often asks clients to complete activities on their own time outside of therapy, because Å“commitment and practice in daily life is an integral part in experiencing success. She practices Acceptance and Commitment therapy which includes elements of several other modalities, like value examination and strategically application of what’s discovered to build structure into one’s life.
Kayla has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University and a Master’s degree in General Clinical Mental Health from the University of Colorado Denver.
