Dr. Odera is a licensed clinical psychologist who earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. She went on to earn her Master of Science degree and doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Odera’s interests include working with adult populations, with a special interest in racial and ethnic minorities, immigrants, and marginalized groups. She works therapeutically with clients in addressing a wide range of psychological concerns including cultural adjustment issues, transnational issues, racial stress and trauma, racial identity development, immigration challenges, and relationship issues.

Dr. Odera works therapeutically to address psychological disorders such as depression, anxiety disorders, self-harm/suicidal behaviors, personality disorders, conduct and mood disorders, and bipolar disorders. Dr. Odera practices individual therapy using interpersonal, insight-oriented, trauma-focused, and psychodynamic approaches and works collaboratively with clients to resolve their presenting issues.

Dr. Odera has extensive training and experience in therapeutically addressing multicultural issues and the impact of social and racial injustice on mental health. She has worked in university health systems and enjoys working with clients on academic-related challenges, adjustment, relationship issues, and professional identity development.
