About Jonathan Llamas (He/Him)
Jonathan V. Llamas, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than a decade of experience in healthcare and mental health. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Coast University and his Doctor of Nursing Practice from Loma Linda University. His clinical background spans inpatient psychiatry, acute care, and outpatient mental health, with experience at Kaiser Permanente, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and AdventHealth Orlando.
Dr. Llamas specializes in the assessment and treatment of depression, anxiety, ADHD, insomnia, and other mental health conditions. He believes in a compassionate, holistic, collaborative, and patient-centered approach to care, taking the time to understand each patient’s individual experiences, concerns, and goals. His treatment philosophy emphasizes shared decision-making and developing individualized treatment plans that help patients feel heard, supported, and actively involved in their care.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Llamas is an internationally recognized healthcare leader, nurse educator, published author, mentor, and mental health advocate. His work extends into healthcare quality, patient safety, public health, health data, and professional development. He is a Certified Global Nurse Consultant (CGNC), Fellow of the American College of Health Data Management (FACHDM), Fellow of the International Society for Quality in Health Care (FISQua), and Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH).
Dr. Llamas has received numerous honors recognizing his contributions to nursing, healthcare leadership, and mental health advocacy. He was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a Patient’s Top Choice and Patient’s Recommended Provider and named one of the Most Impactful Men in Nursing by The Nurses Magazine. His distinctions also include Nurse.org’s Nurse Icon and Nurse Leader of the Year, ABC7 Healthcare Hero, Kaiser Permanente Everyday Hero, and LinkedIn Top Nursing Voice.
